THE GUSSIE WORTHAM FOUNDATION INC. IS A NON-PROFIT FAMILY AND COMMUNITY BASED FOUNDATION  THAT THRIVES ON PROVIDING THE COMMUNITY WITH ALL THE
RESOURCES NEEDED TO SURVIVE DOMESTIC ABUSE INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING; RELOCATION,MENTAL,MEDICAL,SAFETY PLANNING AND LEGAL ADVOCACY AND A MENTOR
PROGRAM FOR BOTH YOUNG WOMEN AND MEN.

THE GUSSIE WORTHAM FOUNDATION INC. IN COLLABORATION WITH THE STATE OF CONNECTICUT DEPARTMENT OF MENTAL HEALTH AND THE CITY OF HARTFORD ALSO GIVES
ASSISTANCE IN EMPLOYMENT TRAINING AND FINDING EMPLOYMENT AND LEARNING JOB SKILLS(RESUME WRITING,INTERVIEW PREPARATION AND PROPER ATTIRE
PREPARATION).THE GUSSIE WORTHAM FOUNDATION IS A HANDS-ON FOUNDATION THAT EMPHASIZES ONE ON ONE SERVICES TO FAMILIES IN CRISIS. OUR PLAN IS GIVE EACH
FAMILY SERVICED THE ATTENTION THAT A SHELTER OR GROUP THERAPY CANNOT GIVE. WE ALSO WORK WITH ALL PARTIES  INVOLVED IN THE CYCLE OF DOMESTIC ABUSE
(MALE,FEMALE,CHILDREN AND ANIMALS).

THE GUSSIE WORTHAM FOUNDATION INC. NOT ONLY RAISES AWARENESS, BUT ALSO FUNDING FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE BY HOSTING AN ANNUAL BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT IN
AUGUST AND VARIOUS FUND RAISER'S  THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.

THE GUSSIE WORTHAM FOUNDATION INC. ALSO OFFERS A YOUTH MENTOR PROGRAM FOR 10-21 YEAR OLD YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN IN COLLABORATION WITH THE CITY OF
HARTFORD, STATE OF CONNECTICUT DEPARTMENT OF MENTEL HEALTH,THE GREATER HARTFORD PRO-AM, SYLVESTER "SLY" TURNER AND THE UNIVERSITY OF CONNECTICUT
HEALTH CENTER (GIRLS IN RECOVERY FROM LIFE STRESS AND MOMS ON MANAGING STRESS). WE HAVE RECENTLY STARTED EDUCATION BEFORE BASKETBALL FOR YOUNG MEN
AND WOMEN AGES (10-18).THIS PROGRAM IS TO PROMOTE ACADEMICS BEFORE ATHLETICS.

THE YOUTH MENTOR PROGRAM OFFERS A VARIETY OUTLETS FOR HARTFORD YOUTH AT LITTLE OR NO COST TO THEIR FAMILIES. WE ARE TRYING TO SAVE LIVES ONE FAMILY AT
A TIME. WE OFFER A SATURDAY MORNING PROGRAM THAT CONSISTS OF TOPICS OF INTERESTS,TRIPS TO SPORTING EVENTS,THE STATE CAPITAL, COLLEGES, BASKETBALL HALL
OF FAME,GUEST SPEAKER'S FROM THE  STATE CAPITAL, IRENE O' CONNOR (EYEWITNESS NEWS) AND A HOST OF SPEAKERS  FROM WITHIN THE COMMUNITY.

THE GUSSIE WORTHAM FOUNDATION INC. ALSO DONATES TO VARIOUS SHELTER'S IN THE COMMUNITY. WE PROVIDE FOOD,CLOTHING AND ANY OTHER  SUPPLIES THAT ARE
NEEDED. THE FOUNDATION ALSO SPONSORS AN ANNUAL SCHOOL SUPPLY GIVE AWAY FOR LOCAL COMMUNITY YOUTH.
